Bob Anderson of Plainfield, Illinois, and his wife, Nancy, of
45 years have been horse lovers for some time. Bob is retired and enjoys his hobbies of reading, snorkeling, swimming,
golf and boating at their winter home in Tortola. The Andersons, when they are not showing
themselves, can be found cheering for their children and grandchildren at the
horse shows. Together they have two
children, Linda Meyer and Keith, and four grandchildren; Whitney, Matthew,
Brianna and Zachery. Linda shows Hakeem the Dream under the direction of HHF and Whitney rides with Bob Griffin and Tom
Thorpe at Northern Tradition.
Since wife Nancy and daughter Linda were already involved with showing, Bob began driving his Hackney
Pleasure Driving pony, Super Spy, six years ago under the
direction of Bonnie Byrne. Bob says his greatest accomplishment with "Snoopy" was placing third at Louisville in 1996.
Bob and "Snoopy" gathered a host of wins during the 1999 season at such shows as
Milwaukee Spring, Tanbark Calvacade of Roses, Wisconsin Futurity and Kentucky
Fall Classic. Together they also picked up two fifth place ribbons at the World Championship Horse Show behind some of
the best ponies in the country.
The Andersons have recently purchased the beautiful three year old mare
Callaway's Pretty Penny and Nancy will eventually be the lucky
driver in the pleasure driving classes. Bob will once again be seen in the ring this season with his trusty
partner Super Spy! |
