Nancy Samuelson

A familiar face on the Midwest show circuit is pretty, petite Nancy Samuelson. A long time supporter of the American Saddlebred, Nancy and her husband, Don, call Lake Forest, Illinois home. The horses are Nancy’s interest, although Don and Nancy share many mutual interests including music and traveling. Don is an accomplished pianist and Nancy was a voice major in college. Together, they have two sons, Christopher and Scott, from which Nancy’s horse business got it’s name - Chriscot Farm.

Nancy, along with her sister, Marianne, teamed up nineteen years and started an interior design business called Interior Motives by M & N. One of the most recent endeavors taken on by Nancy was putting her professional expertise to use by designing and coordinating the fairytale wedding of her son, Christopher. Her appreciation to detail is evident in everything she does.

Beginning her riding career at the age of eight, Nancy started riding with Bernice and Don Leadley at Cumberland Stables in Norridge, Illinois. She has had horses with some notable trainers such as Kim and Fran Crumpler, David Kerger, Ed and Terry Gunn, Scott and Carol Matton and Rick Wallen. Currently, Nancy has her sporty walk-trot mare, Sparkleberry’s Sonata Dare and a two year old filly out of her beloved Danielle Steele in training with Andy and Lynda Freseth at Hollow Haven Farm. Some of her former horses include Chambray, Faberge and Danielle Steel.

With Nancy’s strong love and appreciation of the American Saddlebred, she will continue in this business for a long time.
